Default user role is Author?

    I find that the only option I have for default new user role is “Author”. When I research this, it seems that it’s something related to Super Socializer plugin.

    Assuming this is correct, why does the default role need to be “Author”? Surely it should be “Contributor” or “Subscriber”? What security issues does this present for my site, having lots of users with “Author” permissions?

    The users I actually want to enrol as Authors are also having problems with editing their profiles.

    Hi,
    Plugin assigns new users, the default role chosen by administrator in New User Default Role option at Settings > General page in admin panel. Just select the default role you want to assign new users in this option.
