Default Date/Time Duration per (Custom) Post type

We need to set default expiry durations per Custom Post type.

Would it by fine to keep a global duration for all, but when set per Custom Post type, we can override it?
We would commonly keep the global one empty, as we only have 3 types that need different expiry periods. The rest can live forever.

I’d appreciate if you could looked into this.
