    Installed and activated autoptimize 24 hours ago. Turned on for html, js & css. Killed the burger menu on mobile. Could not identify the conflict and site is live. So, deactivated plugin. Fine on desktop. Complete whitescreen on mobile. Reactivate plugin. Mobile display returns (menu still not functional). Unless plugin is active and javascript is checked to optimize — whitescreen on mobile. Did delete caches, inlcuding on devices, many times, did try suggestions Force JavaScript in <head>, etc. In frustration/ need for quick resolution, restored entire site from backup. Rollback was successful. SAME problem. Whitescreen on mobile. Completely confused. Had to install autoptimize and turn on js to get rid of whitescreen, but menu is dead. Something corrupt? Specific files to delete not addressed by restore (via UpdraftPlus)? Need any resolution/suggestion asap.

    Hey @memeyselfandi;
    Bad news & good news; the bad is I have absolutely no idea what could be causing your site to break even after a full restore. the good is that I just visited your site on my Android + Firefox and it loads fine.

    Kind regards,
    frank

    Thanks Frank. But it’s only loading because I had to leave the plugin installed and active so people don’t get a totally blank screen. So site is visible but menu not functional. So, I still think I need to deactivate/delete.

    AO has:
    * files in /wp-content/plugins/autoptimize
    * files in /wp-content/cache/autoptimize
    * a couple of settings (which are only used by AO)

    upon deactivation all of these get removed, but you could double-check.

    The fact that you still have the blank screen even after a pre-AO restore however seems to indicate another problem which I have no idea about to be honest. You might need to involve your hoster there and check what is in the PHP errorlog.

    I spent the morning figuring out the which js script to exclude to get the menu going. Not too happy with the theme we have. But I’m still freakin out a bit. I cannot figure out what would be left behind that would completely kill mobile and not be eliminated by restore. Was waiting for 5am to get my host to blow all away and restore from one of their backups. Cheers, I do appreciate that you’re there to help!
