I have installed All in One Security on my website and it doesn’t seem to be working to create a DB Backup. I press DB Backup, it starts the process but then finishes with no backup being saved, just a blank screen after the DB Backup tab. Similar to this thread: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/database-backup-not-working?replies=18#post-6111065

I run this plugin on many websites across various servers, but never a problem, but just with this website it is not working. I even have this website on the same server as my other websites where it seems to be working fine.

I have upgraded wordpress to 4.0, I have upgraded this plugin to the latest version as of today. I have even tried temporarily making all folders 777, the wp-content/aiowps_backups directory as well as the /plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/backups folder. I checked the security logs in all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/logs and all logs have 0 bytes and are empty.

I am on a GoDaddy shared server which runs other websites are seem able to use this plugin no problem.

    Hi dcrosbie,
    Ok thanks for confirming that.

There are a couple of things which we will do to improve that feature and which will prevent that table from getting too big.
One is to add a checkbox for logging 404 events – this will be disabled by default and the user will need to specifically enable it for these events to be logged.
The second improvement will involve some kind of automatic table cleanup via a cron job.

Awesome sounds great thanks @wpsolutions This is a fantastic plugin that works great on all my other websites and now this one also!

@mbrsolutions – yes that makes perfect sense, first the memory error which led to the huge log file which then led to further problems. As for if I deleted everything.. sort of, I deleted the files and backup directory in the content folder, but no I did not delete the database entries because I did not want to lose all my settings.

we are having the same issue, TONS of 404s coming from Bing and other bots to old pages and the db backup just going blank.

so i can manually delete the events in the db with no issue?

is there anything i can do to prevent the 404s from piling up again besides a robots.txt file? i’m already using plugins and a new sitemap.xml to report the new structure.

    thanks!
