date in google preview

Since v14.7 of the Yoast SEO plugin, we removed the ‘date in snippet preview’ option and now automatically output it in the snippet preview for all post-type previews. You can refer to the changelog for more information:

• Removes the setting to show the date in the Google Preview. The date will now always be shown in post-type previews.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to remove the ‘date’ in the meta description snippet preview and it will always automatically show now for post-type previews.

We’ve removed this option because it was leading to confusion. Many of our customers felt as if that setting would influence whether or not the date would be shown in the (Google) search results. In reality, it only influenced the snippet preview in Yoast SEO.
