Hi,
Thank you for explaining the issue in detail.
We had an issue that when we copied and pasted the emojis in the email Body section or in the subject then our plugin did not allow to save the email template.
To resolved this issue, we had to change the type of columns in the database. So, when you will click on the “Update” button, it will change the types of columns.
Can you kindly create the ticket on “support at tychesoftwares dot freshdesk dot com” ticketing system? As I would need to check the issue on your site.

Hi,
Would it be possible to know which files are being affected if I click the “Update” button on the notification?
We need to update your email template database for some improvements. Please take a backup of your databases for your peice of mind
It mentions email template database so I’m thinking if its everything on our themes’ email folder or just a specific email template?
Also, your comment mentioned:
We had an issue that when we copied and pasted the emojis in the email Body section or in the subject then our plugin did not allow to save the email template.
I am wondering if its just a single file that needs to be checked or…?
I think it will also be nice to have the option to dismiss the notification as for some (at least for us) the email works fine as is (or probably it is because we don’t use emojis).
P.S. I am sorry if my comments or inquiries doesn’t make sense or sounds confused as I am not that of a full technical when it comes to website development.
Thanks,
-JD
Hi,
No need to feel sorry.
>>Would it be possible to know which files are being affected if I click the “Update” button on the notification?
The “wcal-common.php” & “woocommerce-ac.php” files of our plugin will affect once you click on the “Update” button for updating email template. You would need to search for “update_templates_table” function in both the files.
>>It mentions email template database so I’m thinking if its everything on our themes’ email folder or just a specific email template?
It is just a specific for email template of our plugin. We are updating the database of the table of our plugin.
>>I think it will also be nice to have the option to dismiss the notification as for some (at least for us) the email works fine as is (or probably it is because we don’t use emojis).
Thank you for your suggestion. We will try to include a dismissible notice for database update in our next plugin update.

I concur with the “Dismiss” option as well. Prior to removing the plug-in and re-installing, our system was working fine also, and we do not use emojis either. So, in hind sight, if the warning was written something like this:
We need to update your email template database to support emojies. Please take a backup of your databases for your peice of mind. If you do not use emojies, feel free to dismiss this warning.
I would have just dismissed it and not worried about it. Thanks for the quick support Chetna.
Hi @jzawacki,
Thank you for your kind response and your suggestion.
We will sure look into the database issue and change the notice for that. We will include it in next plugin update.
