    I got a problem with the installation of wp,
    i changed my php config file to:
    // ** MySQL settings **
    define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘motou’); // The name of the database
    define(‘DB_USER’, ‘motou’); // Your MySQL username
    define(‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘password’); // …and password
    define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘freesql.org’); // 99% chance you won’t need to change this value
    but it doesn’t work. It complained always
    “Cannot connect to the database”
    and when i click further, i found Wp-install.php tries using ‘root@localhost’ to connect a database, but not the user name. Is that a bug in WP?
    i use freesql.org as mySQL supporter.
    Any reply will be appreciated.

    Set DB_Host to be ‘localhost’, should solve you problem

    You did rename “wp-config.sample.php” to “wp-config.php”, didn’t you?
