Database Plugin

Hi there, i’m new here.

I’ve been hand coding for a little while now using only html/css, but I’ve now been asked to work on a WordPress site (my first CMS site).

My question is this: is there a plugin (or some form of functionality) in WordPress that enables one to set up a server-side database (for storing records, text, photos etc.) that could be updated/viewed at different locations around the World (by anyone with admin privileges that is)

If data could be entered using a customised form, that would also be great.
