• When I’ve been in phpMyadmin I droped all tabels.
So my usrq/mysql/data/Sitename directory is empty (I’n not sure if it’s the right path).
Thus WordPress is unable to access the database.

    Please help me !

    Alas, no.

I manage though to varify I have the correct path for the database files: usr/mysql/data/Sitename.

Yet I cannot enter one of the sites when I enter http:/Mysite/wp-admin/install I get an error message: “Not Found. The requested URL /wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server”.
(I’ve droped the tables of the dadabase in MyPHPAdmin)
can you advise me of how to proceed ?

Thank you very much for your response !

Without a database backup, you’re done for. You could try asking your hosts if they have a backup of your database but, without that backup, all you can do is re-install WordPress and start re-building your site.

    That’s what I’m doing now.
I’ve re-install WP. one of the 2 sites was re-built.
How can I proceed when I get theerror message: “Not Found. The requested URL /wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server”.?

Re-upload a fresh copy of WordPress. You must have missed a few files.

    Dear esmi,
I re-upload WP, still I got the same message: : “Not Found. The requested URL /wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server”.

Do you have an idea were to search fo a solution ?

    Site url?

    Thread Starter glik

    (@glik)

    Hi, thanks for helping.
the site is in localhost. I’ve defined virtual host. double-checked all 3 relevant files:
    – hosts in windows\system32\drivers\etc
    – httpd.conf in …usr\local\apache2\conf
    – wp-config.php in…www\SiteName

virtual hosts appears right in admin panel “admin virtual host”

    what next ?

Did you download a fresh copy of WP?
    if not do that!

    Thread Starter glik

    (@glik)

    Now I did it.
I’ve erased WP directory from Program Files, downloaded WP arain, extracted the file to C:\Program Files\Wordpress
and copied all the WP files into …www\SiteName directory after deleting all files from this directory
and changed wp-config-sample.php into wp-wp-config.php and adapted all 3 names of
    – ‘DB_NAME’ into SiteName
    – ‘DB_USER’ into a name I’ve created for my user
    – ‘DB_PASSWORD’into my password

    the outcome is the same/
    what is next ?

What’s the server url? And what’s the WordPress site url?

    Thread Starter glik

    (@glik)

There is no site on the internet.
the site is on my computer and for that I’ve defined a virtual host as I’ve mentioned above.
do you know where can I start checking after I’ve re-loaded again and again ?

What’s the server url? And what’s the WordPress site url?

    Thread Starter glik

    (@glik)

the server url in my computer is localhost (I presume)

Teh WP site url is vAHA4u (the virtual host) for the datavase called AHA4u

Why are the two urls different? On most installs, they should be the same.
