If your connection info is correct, you’ll need to contact your hosting provider to ask why your database server is offline.

just spent 1 hour on the line with hostrocket support. it all looks fine to them no reason for database error. not really sure what the cause is. they have escalated the ticket. not sure what that will mean though. not sure if i should consider changing my web site host service?

Can you access your database via phpMyAdmin?

Can you access your WordPress database in there? Do you see your typical database tables, like ones ending in _posts and _comments?

everything looks fine from what i looked over there but not really sure what i should be watching for.

Ok, I guess double check again the connection values in wp-config. If they are indeed correct, you’ll need to wait for your hosting provider to figure out why it can’t be accessed.

yes seems an issue on their end. considering changing hosts was considering godaddy, really need someone that can address issues quicker. i am on day 3 now and no progress, actually only a few steps back.

    See: https://wordpress.org/hosting/

We’re not supposed to discuss hosting because it gets really spammy fast, but I’d suggest you do a bit of your own research before making a decision. You’ll find quite a few threads on this forum if you search it :).

ok sorry to put that up, im new here. ill do some searching thanks. is it pretty easy to move a wordpress site to another host service?

No worries :)! Moving a site takes a bit of work and probably learning some new things, but lots of people do it. Here’s some info on it:

You might also want to look for a plugin such as:

yes plan to do all of that. i just cant even get to my control panel or database either. they have my whole site locked up. really frustrating. i will be changing providers very shortly on this deal. i am loosing visitors/clients/page rank as we speak
