• Hi everyone,
I just had a site go down and I think I know what the problem is but I’m not sure. A couple of months back I had created a sub-domain on my site to demo a site I was building for a friend. After I got it set up I transferred it to her domain. A few weeks ago I delete the sub domain from my site. Now her site doesn’t work. What I’m wondering is if her site was pointing at the database in my sub domain. If so is there anything I can do? If not how would I go about finding the problem.
    Thanks for any help

  • Did you also delete the database associated with the sub-domain setup?

When you say sub-domain, do you mean it was in a sub-directory of your site. So it was like this:

    http://yoursite.com/hersite.com

    If that’s correct, it’s not a sub-domain, it’s just WordPress in a sub-directory.

When you moved her site, to where did you move it. On the same server and in the same user space or is it hosted on a separate server under her hosting account?

No, I designed the site on a subdomain like this: demo.mysite.com. I moved it to her site which is it’s own domain. Both sites where separate accounts under my reseller account.
