Database Connection Error But Only When Trying To Post
-
Ok, when trying to post, the well known database connection error shows up.
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down. Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.I can view the site just fine, navigate etc., as a visitor. I can go into the WP admin area just fine. everything is fine except when I go to post, it gives me this error. I created a new user to try and see, same thing.
So I researched to see if there is a problem with the wp-config.php file. Specifically, the db user, password, etc. When I go check it out, the password is quite odd. Is this password generated automatically? It’s not the password I use to log into Cpanel. My password is a phrase, but the password listed seems like a random assembly of numbers, letters and even a character.
Also, my username is listed as ‘myusername_wrdp1’ Is the “_wrdp1” always added at the end?
