Dashboard summary stopped working: error 403

Using version 6.4.1 of the plugin, the dashboard box that shows the analytics summary stopped working a few days ago for us. It is “loading” for a few seconds and then says:

There was an Analytics API service error 403: Error calling GET https://www.googleapis.com/analytics/v3/management/accounts/xxxxxxx/webproperties/UA-xxxxxxx-3/profiles: (403) User does not have sufficient permissions for this account.
No Analytics account selected. Double check you are authenticated with Google on Google Analyticator’s settings page and make sure an account is selected.

What is the recommended way of getting rid of the error and making it work again? Please note that the analytics code itself still works properly and the visitors are reported in the analytics.
