dashboard issues
-
I have recently migrated from wordpress.com to .org, but my dashboard still does not have the plugin option/folder on the left hand side. It’s as if it is still on wordpress.com. I have tried looking on my hosts (bluhosts) control panel but cannot find anything!
Can anyone help with this?
cheers

if you have just registered the domain name, it might take a while for the change to propagate. are you sure you’re logging into the .org installation on bluhost and not ending up at your old .com blog?
when i log in through bluehosts it takes me to my old word press.com dashboard. I cant see how to get it changed!?! i have emailed their support, but it look’s like they have just imported my old site unless i’ve should have done something when i changed to .org?
Hi,
I’ve been struggling with my sound files disappearing, they are very small mp3 files I uploaded in April when we did my website. I read that I have to pay an upgrade fee for WordPress to support mp3 files. I’m willing to do that, but I can’t find an “Upgrade” tab on my Dashboard which I understand is the payment vehicle. I’ve been over the Dashboard with a fine tooth comb and I don’t see it.
What am I missing?
Thanks so much,
Bob G.I read that I have to pay an upgrade fee for WordPress to support mp3 files.
There is no fee associated with wordpress.org software or features. I have .mp3’s on several sites.
Where are you hosted?
did you also get hosting space on bluhost and install WordPress there? Or did you only change your domain name service to be with them?
please start your own topic.
Hi,
I got hosting space and installed WordPress on dreamhost.com,
or my amigo did it or me. We uploaded the mp3 sound files with no
problem in April when we did the website, and then they disappeared two months later. I managed to Braile my way thru with an FTP program in June and put them back. But now they are gone again! I see the mp3 files in the Media Library on WP, but the link that was created when we uploaded the files to a blog post keeps getting broken, the mp3 files have disappeared. A link that was created when I created the blog post, for example: audio:http://www.eztechnicalenglish.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/hit-the-ground-running.mp3|titles=hit the ground running]This mp3 file disappeared. I guess I’m not clear where WP ends and Dreamhost begins! Or maybe not clear about the concept at all.
Thanks!
Bob Gyep i pay for hosting space and i installed wordpres 3.2.1 via their control panel, then pulled the old across i believe? Like i said, when i log in via their control panel it just takes me to the .com site!?!
ask your hosts where the domain name is pointing to. if it has just been changed, it might take a couple of days to work properly.
those addresses will be to your host’s server. you’ll have to ask them.
I asked the Dreamhost tech support, and they say it’s not them
aging off or removing my mp3 files. S/he says
to upload the mp3s again using Cyberduck (FTP) to the audio subdirectory in the root
and point the audio linking tool in the WP Dashboard to that URL. I see the mp3s in the Media Library on the WP Dashboard, but I can’t seem to access them using the WP Dashboard media linking facility to restore them to my blog posts. So I wonder why I have to upload them again with FTP? It’s all so….strange…or I’m an idiot.
Or both.
