I want to do a quick backup of my site of selected folders but with this new version I cannot do that.

It only allows customizing folder for recurring backup.

I cannot select which folder I want for quick backup option which resist me from using this plugin futher.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your message.

You can still create a customized backup job by selecting the folders you want and simply turning off the scheduling option. Once saved, you can manually trigger the backup anytime by clicking the “Backup now” icon on that job’s card.

This way, you get full control over what gets backed up without setting a schedule.

In case I misunderstood, please let me know.

Clicking on that button Ask to start file back up with a message
“Your backup will be created using the data and the storage location you selected for your scheduled backup.”

But when the schedule was off, the option to select the files was also off which lead to confusion.

Also for custom path “Exclude from backup” path, can you give example if it is relative path or needs a full path from home directory?

    Hi,

    Thank you for your follow-up.

I hope the first part is now clear; the manual backup will always use the data and storage settings saved in the backup job, even if the schedule is turned off.

Regarding the “Exclude from backup” option, you only need to mention the folder name, file name, or extension in that field. It does not require a full path. For detailed examples, you can refer to this guide:

    https://backwpup.com/docs/how-to-exclude-files-and-directories/

If I misunderstood your question, please feel free to let me know.
