Customizing the home page

Hi there,

To have that type of setup, you’ll need to make use of the following:

• The Parallax Hero extension the video background;
• The “Homepage” page template that comes with Storefront itself – more information on configuring that is available at https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/installation-configuration/#section-13

You don’t need to buy that. You can create a new Page and assign that as your site’s homepage. You can then add all sorts of content to this page.

The link in RKs message above will give you some more details on that.

If you’ve created a homepage and you’ve set this as your site’s Home Page (under Appearance → Customizer → Homepage Settings), but you’re not seeing the various sections, check if the template of your page is set to “Homepage”:

When you’ve done that, your site’s homepage will show custom content first, followed by default sections.

Are you sure that the page template for this page is set to “Homepage“?

From what I can see, it is still set to the “Full Width” template. Here is a screenshot for your reference:

Now it looks like it’s using the Homepage template, but indeed it is not showing any products yet. That might be because you haven’t created/published any products yet perhaps?

The way it works is that the homeage will first show the content you have added yourself (as shown in your screenshot), followed by your products. Since it does show that content you created, but not the products, it makes me wonder if your products have been published yet.
