    I’m using the Blix theme and right now the search results page show the whole content of the posts.

    I just want an excerpt that includes the search keyword used. And I also want the keyword in the excerpt in bold or highlighted. Is there any way to do that? Thanks!

  • If the blix theme is similar to kubrick you need to open search.php and change the call for the post to a call for the excerpt. More info here:

    I did try the_excerpt tag but it still won’t do what I need to do.

    The excerpt does not always show and bold or highlight the search term I entered in the search field.

    The excerpt does what it says in its description: show the first 120 words or whatever that number is.

    It will NEVER do automatically “highlighting”, “bolding” etc.

    There might be a plugin for highligting the search term – thogh I have no idea if that guarantee the display of a text portion with the keyword.
