Customizing Footer Widgets

Hi iam new to wordpress and dont know about coding realted stuff for customization of wordpress site, so i need advise about customizing the footer of my website whichcountry.co . the things i need , how to change color and also can i apply custom back backround to footer , is there any plugin or it will need custom php coding in theme files? the main thing i want to know is how to customize footer widgets
