This sounds like it may be a JavaScript issue; can you try following Step 3 on this page and tell me if you see any errors in the console? The customizer is working correctly for Inkblot on my dev box, so I can’t replicate what’s going on just yet…

Thanks!
Unfortunately, I’m not seeing anything there that looks like the issue… a few other things to try and narrow down what’s causing the issue:
- Can you confirm that other themes (one of the stock themes, for example) work correctly with the Customizer?
- A list of active plugins might help, as well; a plugin may be interacting strangely with Inkblot and the Customizer.
- What version of Firefox are you using? Can you try in Safari or Chrome and see if it works any better?
I’m using firefox version 54.0.1, tried on Safari and had the same issue.
The only plugin I have installed recently is Slide Anything sliders. I disabled that and still had the problem. I also have Yoast SEO, Akismet, Facebook Comments, BackWPup, Social Share by Supystic and Google Authenticator and Analytics enabled, but they’ve all been on there for ages and this is recent.
I am hesitant to put another theme on, as I have a bunch of custom CSS which I don’t want to lose. I’ll do a back up and then try it.

I just tried live preview of some of the other themes and couldn’t access the customizer within those either …
Sorry for the delay, finally got around to trying this again. I have run the theme with the standard wordpress 2017 theme activated and still have the same problem. Does this means it’s not a theme issue? If so, how can I resolve it? Any ideas much appreciated! Thanks

No problem @jerusha. At this point my best guess would be a plugin causing trouble, but it’s hard to say… would you mind if I looked at this directly? Send me an email using the “Let’s create together.” link at the bottom of my homepage if you’re interested.
