customize.php not loading . . . ever

    I’ve just gotten WordPress installed on my domain by my webhost (Warped) a week ago. And I cannot get “customize.php” in “wp_admin” to load, I get the left side menu, but the rest of the screen is white with a grey spinning ball in the middle of it. And I have given it ample chance. I have tried it in Chrome and Firefox (Mozilla). I am currently waiting on a response from my webhost regarding this issue, and I thought in the meantime someone here may have heard of this phenomena before. I have tried several themes, with the same results. I have searched the forums before posting this, and found no workable solution, so I do hope I’m not beating a dead horse. Thank you for your time and attention.

    Have you tried disabling all plugins while using a default WP theme? If that works, switch back to your desired theme and check again. If it still works, start re-activating plugins one at a time until it breaks again.

    Yes, that was the first bit I tried, going with what I read here on the forums from one and two years ago. Any other thoughts? Thank you for taking the time.

    You might try re-installing WP from the updates page in case something didn’t quite get installed properly. It can be done manually as well, but I’d try the auto-install first.

    Okay, when my webhost gets back to me, I will ask him to do that. You’ve done the heavy lifting for him, I’m sure he will appreciate your troubleshooting. I do. Have a nice night.

    If you can load Dashboard > Updates in WP admin, there’s a button there that should say ‘Re-install now’. If not, you can enlist your host’s help. 🙂

    Okay, reinstalled. No change. I’ll wait for my host, I was hoping it was something blatantly obvious to anyone not a newbie like me. I get that a lot.
