    Hi,

I’ve created a new custom post type using Custom Post Type UI and I want to create a new post template for displaying this post type correctly.

Can I do it using OceanWP? If yes; May you please guide me to the starting point?

BTW, I did a new try to test the problem as following:

    1. Installed a new fresh WordPress
    2. Installed CPT UI
    3. Installed OceanWP and its child theme
    4. Activated the child theme (contains on the modifications you mentioned)

    The white page appeared!!!

It seems OceanWP conflicts with CPT UI

No there is no conflict between OceanWP and CPT UI. I don’t know why it is not working for you. I tested it on my end and it is working.

I explained to you exactly about this issue but unfortunately you refused to look into it.

I know it’s weird but it occurs. I sent to you a live installation for testing it but you didn’t collaborate with me 🙁

Hi, I’m having this issue too. I can’t believe it’s so hard to get a template file working…. Did you find a solution?

    Hello David,

Did you follow the instructions as I mentioned above in this topic? After doing all things, use the Health check plugin and enable troubleshoot mode to check the issue. Disable it and check the archive template works correctly or not.
Since our support is limited here and we can’t provide custom coding supports. You need to see it with a developer. Hope you understand.

I am a developer. I did everything listed above. I think there is a bug in the code.

I tried to fix this issue too much but it didn’t work. The author didn’t collaborate fine (I thanked god I didn’t purchase this theme) so I dropped this theme and I’m using another one.

I tested the solution on my end after that I shared here. Also, The above solution is based on the older version of the OceanWP theme. With the new version, there are some changes in the code related to archive pages. It could be a possible reason.

Support should be able to tell me how to create a template file for a custom post type…. I will not buy this theme if I am unable to do this.

Hello David, you need to use a child theme for this, then add the single.php file to it, open it and add your CPT code if on singular item, then create a partials folder on your child theme, your CPT folder, and copy the single post files to help you.
Feel free to ask if you still need help with this.

@oceanwp I got it working. Thank you.

This information really should be in the documentation. I would like to contribute to all of the great work you have done. How can I submit an explanation for this to be added to documentation?
