• I would really like to use a static Home Page and display one or two recent posts there. But it seems that isn’t an option. So how can I customize the Posts page so that there is content (e.g. a mission statement) at the top that never moves?

  • Some themes have ways to choose things on the home page. You can make a child theme with a Page template for that, but it’s probably easiest to get a plugin for either a block or shortcode or widget that shows posts in a way you like.
I think that would be better than making a child theme and changing the index.php or home.php to show some static content, although you could change it so it has a widget area which you can then put whatever you want into.
