• I have installed WordPress 4.3 on a domain that I have recently purchased with SiteGround.

However, I have encountered difficulty in customising pages as the ‘Customize’ page refuses to load.

The matter has been passed on to the technical team at SiteGround, but, from the posts I have seen (that have been unsuccessful in correcting this issue), I fear this may be an issue with WordPress and not with the hosting company.

The developer window highlights a number of errors that occur when loading the page, which I have attached in the hope that it helps highlight any root causes.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance on this as the launch of my company hinges on the publishing of this site.

    Many thanks

  • Hi David,

    Try the basic troubleshooting steps:

    – switch to one of the default WordPress Twenty something themes
    – deactivate ALL plugins

    Try using Themes > Customize

    – if it works with no errors, enable each plugin one at a time, testing Customize after each
    – if you are able to run Themes > Customize on a default WP theme after enabling all plugins, the issue is with your theme
    – if you are unable to run Themes > Customize on a default WP theme after enabling one of the plugins, the issue is with that plugin

    Cheers!

I recently acquired 2 new domains and installed WP. After updating to WP 4.3 I could no longer access the Screen Options and Help menus on the dashboard and could not, therefore, customize my site. My host provider has spent many hours trying to fix the problem, but has concluded that it must be with the software as it is not with their servers. Help! I’m at my wits end!

One of my domains was OK after inactivating all of the plugins, however, the other domain still won’t let me do any customizing.

This is my firms time posting a topic, can you please tell me which window to go to to start a topic. Thanks!

I found this page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Writing_Posts, but I can’t figure how to get to the part where you fill in the blanks. Thank you.

Go to https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting and at the bottom of the page, fill out the form and click Post 🙂
