Hello. I’m a relative newbie to WordPress. Under the Appearance menu I select Customize and the left side panel appears which should allow me to expand the various bricks (options) to edit. However, none of those bricks expand and I cannot make any changes.

I have tried multiple themes and disabled all plugins to see if it’s a compatibility issue but nothing has worked. One item that seems odd is that the text at the top of the sidebar says that I’m “previewing” the theme. That seems odd since the theme is absolutely active. I’m positive about this since I can navigate to the site outside the dashboard and see the theme is live.

    Any thoughts?

Have you tried a different browser or even a different computer to rule out a local issue. Do you have javascript enabled in your browser?

Thank you for the reply. I actually figured it out. I thought I had disabled all plugins but there were a couple I did not. It was a calendar plugin that was causing the issue. Once deactivated everything worked fine.
