Hello. My name’s Josh, and I’m graphic designer. I create websites mostly using elementor, and HTML+CSS. I have client, who want to have his store on WooCommerce. I wanted to create it in elementor, but he said, that it must be done as a theme (i can’t use plugins, or 3rd party software). Can you please told me in which technology it can be done, and how does the process looks in steps? I’m know almost nothing about custom Woo Development, so please told me how it looks.

If you build WooCommerce into a custom theme, your client will not be able to take advantage of future WooCommerce updates or of any of the hundreds of plugins which add extra functionality to WooCommerce.

So WooCommerce must be installed as a plugin. Ask your client why he wants WooCommerce built into a theme. There is probably a better way of resolving his concerns.

If you want a custom theme, you can start with any theme, then make a child theme

Your child theme can be developed as your custom theme and you can and any tweaks to it that you want. A child theme just contains any differences – the parent theme does most of the work.
