Thank Sergei! I’ve checked in a similar update: $template = !empty($instance['template']) ? $instance['template'] : $view->get_template_abspath('photocrati-widget#display_gallery'); so that any gallery templates can be pulled from the theme override dir.

@sergei – You can pull down the absolute latest bleeding edge developer version of NextGEN Gallery from the public repository here: https://bitbucket.org/photocrati/nextgen-gallery/get/default.zip
Please keep in mind, we do not offer direct support for this untested version but if you find any issues you can report them with as much specifics as possible via our Bug Report form as “alpha” issues.
