Custom Share Button Installation

    I am running the WordPress 4.2.2 Twenty Thirteen theme and am trying to install custom share buttons. I can get all of the pre-made buttons to function correctly on my site but I am having trouble installing custom buttons. The installation instructions tell me to add the zip file of the custom buttons into my computer documents. The issue I have is that none of my computer documents carry anything about my WordPress website. Am I missing something? Do I need to link my computer documents to WordPress somehow? Thanks for helping out a fairly confused guy!
