Custom queries and filtering help

Is it possible to make a template/custom query for when you click a calendar date permalink? I’m trying to use the Events Manager plugin with FacetWP for filtering and in order to get the filter to work I use a custom query to list out events however when I do this clicking a date with a list of events i.e http://url.co.uk/events/2015-10-10/ doesn’t work. Is it possible to query “this” date I click on? If so how and or has anybody used FacetWP successfully with Events Manager?
