Support » Plugin: WP Simple Galleries » Custom Post Type support & not seeing any options?

  • Hey Matthew

    This plugin looks like it’s *exactly* what I’m looking for – getting tired of having to constantly bend NextGen to my will, only to have it break all of my code on an update :/

    I just did a quick install on my localhost, but noticed a couple of things:

    a) There doesn’t seem to be an options screen for WP Simple Galleries – has this been removed? Are the thumbnail sizes determined by WP’s default Media options?

    b) I specifically wanted to use this for a Case Studies custom post type I created for a client, so they can add an image gallery to each of their projects; however WP Simple Galleries only seems to support posts & pages.

    I did try adding my ‘casestudies’ post type to the $post_types array on line 73 of wp-simple-gallery.php, but it didn’t seem to do the trick.

    Any help would be gratefully received.

  • To answer my own question:

    For whatever reason, the foreach loop on line 75 didn’t seem to help when I added …'casestudies' => '1' to the $post_types array, so instead I added the following line outside of the loop:

    add_meta_box('wpsimplegallery', __('WP Simple Gallery', 'wpsimplegallery'), array(&$this, 'inner_custom_box'), 'casestudies');

    …and that seemed to do the trick. I also didn’t want the gallery being automatically dumped in after the post, so I commented out line 49 (add_filter('the_content'...)

    I assume that all of these things can be set in the admin/options page, but for whatever reason I don’t get one when I install the plugin.

    For reference I’m using the latest WP 3.5.1, and the only other activated plugin is my custom Case Studies CPT plugin. I tried deactivating and reactivating WP Simple Galleries with define('WP_DEBUG', true); but it reports no errors.
