Custom Post Template

I want a custom post template within a custom post type. So, in addition to the regular “Posts” I have added “Magazine Articles” using this plugin. And I also use the Single Post Template to create a post template.

The magazine article needs to have a completely different layout than the regular blog posts.

But the problem is I cannot get the post template drop down box in the magazine article post type. It only shows up in the regular posts.
