Custom Permalink Conflict Between Post and Tag

Hi,

On my blog, I have a few tags that have the same permalink as a post. I want WordPress to show the post when they go to that url.

This works almost all the time, and it allows me to use the tag system to link directly to an important post without a 301 redirect from the /tag/ directory structure.

But for some reason, on one tag where I’m doing this, WordPress is choosing to show the tag page instead of the post.

I know this is off-book use, but I’m wondering who and where its decided what will be shown when two custom permalinks are the same. I’d like the post to be top priority, in my case.
