custom page not updating

I been at this for some time now. Here is the scoop

I have made a custom landing page.
Added the code
<?php /* Template Name: homepage2 */ ?>
Then uploaded into the theme folder.
When I make a page in the drop down it shows it
http://1tag.us/ckUVBO
and everything works fine. But when I got to the reading part and asign that page to be the homepage. It never updates it.
I cleared all my cache everywhere

Any ideas
