custom member area

hi everyone,
i want to build a member directory fully customized. my website integrate already ultimate member and buddypress but their member list dont match my needs so i want to know how to build my own member area and directory.
for my member directory i want to :
- make selection of adéquat users
- extract needed data
- display these datas
for my member area i would to build a users data-table, filled with my own form submission and display needed data and form on frontend
i found somethings about WP_User and WP_User_Query classes, but i’m a noob about wordpress and i don’t know how to start this project.
anyone could help me ?

I’ve tried profile grid, i’ts a good plugin but i dont want to pass through a plugin, nor ultimate member, nor buddy press, nor profile grid.
i would to start something as simple as possible with only functions i need. for starting i try to find a code example., like a custom member area code to help me with basics.
