Did you check that the directory and the files have the right permission? Not that the flags should change only on frontend, not on admin side.

hello, I did the same, but my flags aren’t showing up…
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    thanks

Did you put the flags in the directory 'wp-content/polylang' ? Not in plugins directory. You have to create the directory as Polylang does not create it. Did you correctly name the files? Did you check the permissions of the directory adn the files?

oh, now i see my mistake! Thanks so much problem solved!!!

When putting the alternative flags in wp-content/polylang, these flags only show on the website and not in the administration panel (still the default flags). But I suppose that is the way it is meant to be?
    Thanks.

Yes, that’s right. You can’t change the flags on admin side, just in case the size is different from the default flags.

    Thanks, Chouby!
