I have created a custom field to the event page which works fine, but I have noticed that changes are to the custom field are not always saved. If I make a change to the custom field content and click the custom field Update, and then view my event, then the changes are there. But, if I make a change to the custom field, click custom field update, and then edit the event content and do a page Update, the changes to my custom field are then lost.

The only way that I can save the custom field changes permanently, is to update the custom field, close out of the event editor, and then go back into the event editor and the changes to the event detail and click page Update.

It is very confusing and a bit frustrating.

    Thanks!

  • It’s possible this is a conflict caused by your theme or another plugin. To check if it is, can you test with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default WordPress theme?

I did try that. I disabled everything except for Events plugin and changed to default theme. Same issue.

Are these custom fields created with another plugin?

Which version of Events Manager are you using?

Which version of WordPress are you using?

The custom fields were created within the Events plugin. I am using the most current version of the plugin as well: Version 5.6.6.1

    I am using WordPress 4.7.3

Does it happen with every custom field or just some?

Yes. I am only using a couple and only with this plug-in. I have not created any other custom fields, and I am NOT using the Advanced Custom Fields.

If you’d like, I can set you up with a test account on my sit so you can look at it directly.

Just to clarify: Are you using custom fields or custom attributes?

Can you test with a different custom field?

What are the names of the fields you having trouble with?

Aye! I am using the section of the Event Editor with the title Custom Fields. I assume that means it’s a custom field and not a custom attribute. I used the function within this section with the title “Add New Custom Field:” I clicked on “Enter new” link below the Name Dropdown. Enter the “Name” of the custom field and entered the “Value” and clicked on “Add Custom Field”.

It creates fine, but if I make changes to the value of my custom field value and click on the PAGE UPDATE, it will not save the changes. It will only save if I click on the custom field Update within the Custom Fields section of the Event Editor.

I’m not sure how I can make it any more specific.

Can you test with a different custom field?

What are the names of the fields you having trouble with?

I don’t see why testing another field would make any difference. The name of the custom field I created…using your plugin…is ti-payment-info. I have not found anywhere in my installation with that name.

It has been over 2 weeks since I first reported this. Is there any actual plan of looking into this, or just delay with continuous questions?

With respect, I’m trying to help you but you’re not answering questions that might help.

Again, can you test with a different custom field?

I tested with a different custom field, and I get the same exact issue. The custom field name is ti-new-field.

I can create the field and click on the page update it it will remain, but when I make a change to the Value of the custom field and click on the custom field “Update” the change of the value will remain. But, if I then click on the page Update, the custom field value loses the recent update. The only way that it will retain the change to the custom field value is if I exit the event edit page and return to it to make updates to the changes to the event content.

How many custom fields are you using with the event?
