    Hey,

I’m putting together meta titles and descriptions. I’m adding some custom fields using %%cf_my_field%% which works.

However, if your custom field has a dash instead of an underscore, such as %%cf_my-field%% , then Yoast just treats it like text and it doesn’t work right.

We apologize for the trouble you are currently experiencing with our plugin. Luckily, a so-called “bug report” (a description of the issue, so we can fix it) is filed already here.

Please note that this only affects the Google/snippet preview. The variable will appear correctly on the frontend and search engines will see the output of the custom field.

    What’s next?
Our product team will asses the severity of this problem in relation to other open bug reports and new features. Based on their assessment, the bug report will be given a priority. Our developers work on the highest priority issues first. Unfortunately, this means we cannot give you an estimate when they’ll start working on your report.

Bugs are reported, investigated and fixed in GitHub so this topic was closed in favor of the GitHub issue. If you have any further information that may affect the prioritization or help our development team, please subscribe to the GitHub report to get updates on the issue.

Closed. No other concerns. Please follow the Github link to know the status of the report.
