    Hi there

We seem to be having issues with the post notifications being sent. Having checked the script – we get this error: cURL error 56: Failure when receiving data from the peer

It appears that Heart Internet (really helpfully!!) block cURL requests. Is there anyway of getting your awesome plugin to work without the use of cURL?

    Thanks in advance.

OK So from further digging – I can confirm that cURL is actually active on the server – is just the loopback connection that is being blocked 🙁

    Hi,

Sending is done in the background and requires that your site is accessible locally (i.e., loopback connection). There’s no way around this, sorry.

Thanks for the response. Would using MailPoet 2 get around the issue, or does this work in the same way?

For your records Heart Internet in the UK won’t allow loopbacks on their servers.

    Re,

MP2 uses a different mechanism to send emails, so you won’t be affected by this server limitation.

One possible workaround for MP3 is to use a proxy that would forward the HTTP request (e.g., your site > proxy > your site).
