• Hi @ambmills,

Absolutely love the plugin. Does exactly what I want, so glad I found it.

I’m having the same issue which a user flagged a while ago about using the woocommerce CSV import whereby the data in the ‘Meta: _amb_vap_prod’ ‘Meta: _amb_vap_prod_url’ and ‘Meta: _amb_vap_prod_cart_text’ is all being stripped out on import. It’s strange because the affiliate URL does get passed through.

Any idea when you might be able to look at this as it means it’s a manual job after every import to go into every product inventory and click enabled, enter a url, and enter the buy button text.

I want this to be permanently enabled (so it always shows the affiliate links) so not sure if there’s an alternative solution whereby this could be left blank and it would still show the affiliate buy buttons.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Hi @gaztruman I think it may have been my observations you were referring to? I think the reason why these variables gets stripped down is because the standard WooCommerce Importer doesn’t allow custom variables on import. I had this with this plugin but also with Yoast when trying to import Meta fields. No reflection on the plugin itself, I take my hat off to the author, but at the time, for me at least, meant I had to ditch this and use another method. That said, you could try https://woocommerce.com/products/product-csv-import-suite/ as it would / should resolve your problem. Cheers

Thank you, yes it was. I have wp all import pro but i think someone mentioned that they weren’t sure if it would work with that either. I’ll try that next.

Just tried using wp-all-import and it strips out the data from the csv. It’s so strange and frustrating because the ‘Meta: _amb_wpvap_variation_url’ imports fine.

I wonder if there is somewhere in the plugin where the code that requires it to be enabled, have a url and have button text could just be overwritten to always have data in it (rather than it always being blank).

An alternative I thought of was whether there was somewhere in the database where these fields/rows are stored that could just be overwritten after an import. Saves the job of having to go into each product one by one and selecting enabled, url, and button text after each import.

Have a look at lines 210 – 217 in amb-wcvap-functions.php – that might help with the default button text – not sure where the enabled bit goes, maybe one for the plugin author?

I think I might have to ditch the plugin and find another way of getting variable products to have affiliate links. It’s a shame because it’s so close to being perfect! 🙁

Sadly, that’s where I got to. As you say, a real shame as this plugin has so much potential.

@altnet @gaztruman apologies for the lack of response. We plan on implementing an integration with WP All Import and the WooCommerce Importer in a future release, though I don’t currently have an ETA for that update.

Please help. When importing through All import it disables the plugin? How come. I am only updating price.

    Please assist
