Try to update to 0.9.12, which uses the new Buttons extension and removes the old TableTools extension. You may need to visit the plugin’s settings screen and rewrite your DataTables defaults object (or just erase the current value, leave it blank, and hit “Save Changes”) to complete the upgrade.
Thanks very much for the updated version. Updating the plugin in the backend didn’t work so I just deleted the whole plugin and installed the latest version and it works again.

That’s concerning. By “didn’t work” do you mean failed to resolve the broken CSV, PDF, etc. buttons or do you mean failed to bring your installation up to the latest version?
The plugin updated OK but the buttons did not appear (not appearing and broken – but not appearing at all). I also lost the table formatting so I figured it was a compatibility problem on my end. So I just re-installed and everything’s fine.
