After updating to 4.1.3 of the Testimonials Basics plugin, using the CSS based star rating system seems to have Chinese characters displayed instead of stars. This only happened once I updated to the new version of plugin.

Please advise on how I can correct it? (it seems to show stars if I uncheck CSS based star rating option).

    Hi jmeckler

Sorry I’m so late. I will look into the css star problem….it is showing the characters because something is wrong with the font reference.

Can you give me your website address?

My test site is working fine so there must be something in your theme’s css that is causing it.

    What theme are you using?

The site I’m working on is using Steamify theme with a Kangaroo control panel i believe.

    URL to testimonials is:
    http://www.fireplaceexperts.ca/testimonials/

I’d really like to have that CSS issue resolved because jquery stars don’t show up on mobile theme they have installed.

I have temporarily put back the CSS Stars so you can see. It was working fine with the last version of Testimonials Basics so there must be a conflict with the code in latest update?

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just flushed cache and it is resolved. I tried before. I wonder if it needed time after the plugin update to be able to set itself to proper CSS Stars.

    Thanks for the reply though!

    No Problem

    Glad you resolved it:)

    Hi,
Could you tell me how to make the stars a slightly darker shade of grey in the input form before they have been chosen.
At present because of my site colors you can only see the little – next to them (they blend in to the background) but if I change the star bg css it creates a block around the stars (i just want the stars to be alittle darker grey)
Thanks a lot for any help.
    Jon
