OK — so I have a mobile router, that comes in four variations. TWO, and ONLY TWO, of those variations, correspond to a specific Antenna Product. This antenna product, also has four variations, and again, Only 2 of those antenna variations match with those 2 mobile router variations.

Cross-selling these antennas for the parent SKU would be irresponsible as they are NOT compatible. How even if it’s with a plugin I’ve yet to discover, can I match a Variation Product and another Variation in cross-sells and other types of linked product types?

    Is it even possible?

    Hi there,
I suggest that you consider Composite Products (https://woocommerce.com/products/composite-products/) as this allows you to build a product from multiple parts, and using scenarios you can limit what it offered in various combinations as described here:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/composite-products/composite-products-advanced-configuration/#section-2

I hope that helps you to figure it out.

No, that’s a bit more extreme. I could just use grouped products if I wanted to force below to buy a router with a specific antenna in a single purchase. I just want to recommend the correct variation product that pairs with another variation product, without forcing them to purchase it.

With Composite products you can make the components optional so there is no forced purchases, just a list of further components that can be added to the purchase.
The other reason I suggested Composite Products was your requirement for conditional display of components based on an initial selection. This is handled by the Scenarios feature of Composite Products.

I hope that helps you to figure it out.
