I am following these Universal Analytics instructions: https://www.monsterinsights.com/docs/setup-cross-domain-tracking/

When I check the “Add_setAllowLinker” box, I don’t see the custom code section. The screenshot in the instructions looks like it’s immediately below the Add_setAllowLinker field, but I don’t have that. The Save Changes button remains immediately below the Add_setAllowLinker field.

How can I enter the other domains for cross-domain tracking?

    Thanks!

What version of MonsterInsights are you using?

Note, in order to see the custom code setting your user must have the WordPress core capability of unfiltered_html. On single site installs, this is given to administrator role. If you have a WordPress multisite install, this capability is only given to Super Admin role users.

    Hi Chris,

    It’s version 5.5.

I am trying to assist a client, so less familiar with WordPress than other platforms. Where would I check if the user had the core capability of unfiltered_html?

    Thank you!

    Hi there,
In the WordPress admin can you see the Users table (navigate to the Users item in the admin bar on the left side of the screen): https://codex.wordpress.org/images/thumb/b/b7/authandusers.png/960px-authandusers.png

If so, you can search for your user (via the search box in the upper right of that screenshot). Once you find yourself, your role is in the column for Role in the table.

Now that I think of it, in the default WordPress capability system, since you’d need manage_options in order to see the MonsterInsights panel, the only way in the default permissions model you wouldn’t be able to see the custom code setting but still be able to see the MI settings panel is if you are an Administrator role user on a multisite (since in WordPress MS, admins don’t get unfiltered_html)

If you want, it might be easier to contact us via https://www.monsterinsights.com/contact, and we can figure this out in a few minutes by logging into an account on your site.

Chris, it’s very likely this is an MS. I’ve contacted someone I think would be a Super Admin, but I’ll let you know if we need further assistance.

Thank you for your help! Much appreciated!

    Not a problem!
