Cron task not running

    Hello- I love this plugin, and the manual upload works great! However, I cannot get a cron job to run. I have found the other cron thread that mentioned checking WP-Crontrol, I have downloaded that and see other corn jobs running, but see nothing for “Import Users from CSV” on the WP-Cron Events.

    My settings in the Import Users from CSV > Cron import- are:

    Activate periodical import? CHECKED
    Path of file that are going to be imported: CONFIRMED
    Period: 1 MINUTE
    Send mail when using periodical import?: CHECKED

    And then after letting sit for bit, I see:
    Log – Last actions of schedule task: No tasks done yet.

    @dbmkltd;

    Good evening, the problems seems to be the WordPress cron. Try to configure WordPress cron to use your hosting cron.

    Look in Google for something like “configure WordPress cron” and do it. It will work better.

    Unless you do it, WordPress cron only will execute when a user visit the page (this is how HTTP works) and sometimes it won’t work.

    Thanks for the quick reply Javier. I was abel to find specific instructions from our hosting provider for this. However, after it was setup- that still dod not work. It does not look like the problem is the cron running, but the job being added to cron task list to begin with. I am using WP Crontrol to diagnose.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

    @dbmkltd,

    This is really strange. Maybe the cron try to execute and it thorws some errors.

    Have you seen the errorlog?

    Hi Javier- I’m still troubleshooting this. I was able to get the cron to run correctly, but only when the file path is on my local FTP. The cron does not seem to run when the path is set to use a Google Sheet URL.

    Can the plugin pull the CSV from an outside source- like Google Sheets, or a CSV file in Dropbox, or AWS, or other, or does the file HAVE to be /wp-content/uploads/test.csv?

    @dbmkltd,

    Currently plugin only is able to read a file from the system where the plugin is installed.

    If you want to download a CSV from an external source and then import it, as you tell me, we can do it but we would need support to make this new feature.

    Hello,

    I have peroblem with cronjob and auto import.

    I have installed the WP control and i can see the other cron job of the wordress plugin and core work well, but i can see any cron job about the import plugin.
    Can i add it manually in the Wp control ? In this case what is the name of the hook ?

    It should start the cron job and register it when you save the cron schedule.

    Hook name is acui_cron.

    Hello,

    Thanks. So the problem is not here because the hook is already present. When i click on run now in Wp control, the csv is not imported ?

    Any idea ?

    Which message appears in log? You have a debug log of the cron into cron tab.

    At the end of the “Cron” tab.

    If you have empty your log, you have a problem that don’t allow to save the log.
