• Hi! I’m using LearnPress with Themify Ultra Child.
I created a course, in the admin frontend and backend displays perfectly.

But when not logged in, or when accessing the course page from an incognito window or another browser I get a critical error. I used WP Debugger and then it displays the following thing:

Could you please help? Can’t see what’s going on. Thanks a lot!

    Hi mikkz,

    Thank you for contacting us.

To accurately determine if the issue is related to LearnPress, could you please perform a quick test? Kindly switch to a default WordPress theme, such as Twenty Twenty-Five, and deactivate all plugins except LearnPress. Then, check the course page again while not logged in or in an incognito window.

    • If the error disappears after switching to the default theme, it indicates that the issue might be with your Themify Ultra Child theme, and we recommend contacting their support for the best assistance.
    • If the error persists even with the default theme and only LearnPress activated, please let us know, and we will investigate further to find a suitable solution for you.

    Best regards,

I am using the template Educenter pro and I am getting the same problem reported by @mikkz.

What can I do to fix this?

Hello, I performed the test suggested above.
When changing to a default theme, the site works normally. So I assume then it’s a problem of the Themify Ultra Child template.
Will contact them to see what’s going on..

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi mikkz,

We’re glad to hear that switching to a default theme resolved the problem.

    Hi aidcalves1,

Thank you for letting us know that you’re experiencing a similar issue with the Educenter pro theme. We recommend that you also try the same troubleshooting steps that mikkz did: switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-Five) and deactivate all plugins except LearnPress. Then, check if the error persists.

    • If the error disappears with the default theme, the issue is likely related to the Educenter pro theme, and you should contact their support team for assistance.
    • If the error continues even with the default theme and only LearnPress active, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to investigate further to find the best solution for you.

    Best regards,

There is an issue between LearnPress and WordPress 6.8. When I rolled back to 6.7.1 it fixed the issue.

    Hello mareider,

Thanks for informing this, in my case it seems it’s a problem of the theme (Themify Ultra Child).

Was this the problem also in your case? (a problem with the Theme), or was it just an issue with the Learn Press plugin?

I haven’t been able to accurately adress the issue on Themify Ultra, our designer is looking through it.

Thank you very much for your help and infos!

    Hi mareider and mikkz,

Thank you both for sharing your findings.

mareider, thank you for pointing out the potential conflict with WordPress 6.8.

mikkz, thank you for confirming that the issue seems to be theme-related in your case.

Given the information shared, we recommend that both of you take a look at this WordPress.org support topic: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/is-this-a-learnpress-critical-error/

If the issue persists after trying the suggestions in that topic, we strongly advise contacting the developers of your respective themes (Themify Ultra Child for mikkz and your current theme for mareider) for the most comprehensive and theme-specific support.

    Best regards,
    Brianvu-tp
