Critical error from The SEO Framework plugin

    Hello!

    My site, myroadtopt.com, has been broken since November 2021 (I’m just getting around to fixing it now). I haven’t been able to login to WP-admin, and I get error emails every 2-3 days with links to log into the recovery mode, but I haven’t had the time to login to recovery mode before the link expires.

    I’m able to access CPanel and all hosting websites. I’ve searched on various forums for step-by-step processes to fix this issue, but I’ve been a bit confused.

    The first error email I received was on 11/16/21. Here are quotes from the emails I’ve been receiving:

    “In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, The SEO Framework.

    When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 5.8.2
Current theme: Customify Child (version 0.0.9.1526247429)
Current plugin: The SEO Framework (version 4.2.2)
PHP version 5.6.40

Error Details
=============
An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 108 of the file /home/ooawskwp/public_html/wp-content/plugins/autodescription/inc/functions/api.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected '?'

    Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or the file manager in cPanel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the entire /autodescription/ directory there.

    This will remove the plugin causing the problem and restore your site.

    Next, I recommend reporting the issue at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/autodescription/ so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    Hello!

    The SEO Framework requires PHP 7.2 or higher. Please make sure you’re running at least PHP 7.2 (recommended PHP 7.4) on your server.
