    Hi,

Today I installed the plugin and on activation it directly gives an error.
“There has been a critical error on this page”

The frond end is still visible but it will lock me out of the backend and the only option is to disable the plugin with an external application to gain access again.

    Thanks

  • Hi @arnoldwillems

sorry to hear that you encounter some issues with our plugin.
Could you add the following lines in your wp-config.php file and install again the plugin:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true);

it will let us know the content of the error.

    Kind regards

    Mat

    Hi Mat,

I am getting the following critical error, for security reasons I have renamed some of it with ###

Fatal error: Declaration of DI\Definition\Helper\CreateDefinitionHelper::getDefinition(string $entryName): DI\Definition\Definition must be compatible with DI\Definition\Helper\DefinitionHelper::getDefinition($entryName) in /home/###/domains/###/public_html/wp-content/plugins/matomo/app/vendor/php-di/php-di/src/Definition/Helper/CreateDefinitionHelper.php on line 135

    Hi @arnoldwillems

It looks like you have an incompatible plugin installed.
Are you able to get the system report from the menu Matomo Analytics > Diagnostics?
If you aren’t able to get it, please first check if one of your plugins is in the list of known incompatible plugins:
    https://matomo.org/faq/wordpress/which-plugins-is-matomo-for-wordpress-known-to-be-not-compatible-with/
if you have none of them, maybe this is an unknown one. You’ll have to disable one by one all your plugins to find which one is responsible of that.
    Kind regards

    Mat

    Hi @willemsaccurevisie

Any chances you read my previous answer?
Did you find any incompatible plugin?
    Kind regards

    Hi @mattmary ,

I did read your previous answer, but just disabling all plugins to find out which one is colliding is not a thing you do without having any effect on the site.

I need to do this on a quite moment

I can also provide your list of plugins, so you could test this out at your end?

    Thanks

    hi @willemsaccurevisie

Can you provide me the system report?

    Kind regards

    Hi @mattmary,

Please, can you tell me where I can find that report?
And which details of the report you require?

    Thanks

    hi @arnoldwillems

You can find your system report from the menu Matomo Analytics > Diagnostics
It will give me the full list of your installed plugins and will let me know if you have an installed plugin which is known to be incompatible with our plugin.

    Kind regards

    Hi @mattmary,

How would you do that when the whole site crashes when activating your plugin

I will close this ticket now as I don’t feel it’s a good choice to move forward with your plugin.

    Cheers

    Hi @arnoldwillems

    You have a conflict.
Without having the full list of your installed plugins it’s impossible to identify which one is responsible of this problem.
If you do not want to investigate, you can still choose to switch to matomo on premise with the wp-piwik plugin.
    Kind regards

    Mat

    Hi @arnoldwillems
