    Greetings.

I’m a newbie to WordPress, and have just started building my first website

It’s remarkably easy to use and manipulate.

But, I can’t seem to wrap my head around MENUS.

I am trying to create new menus (which is easy enough). But, I want to create several sub-menus under each main menu.

From what I gathered using online instructions, and other replies here on this forum, the way to do it is :

    (a) Create a menu
    (b) attach pages to this menu. This should create a drop-down list of sub-menus, one for each new page

    But, it’s not working.

Firstly, when I create a new menu, my WordPress admin template only gives me one option : to place it as a Navigation Menu. If I check this box, it places the menu on the top Navigation Bar.

Which is ok…………except that, if I try to attach a page to this menu, it does not create a drop-down menu. Instead, it places this new page right beside the first menu. So, as a result, I have TWO menus on the Navigation Bar.

And, to make matters worse, I can’t find any other option for where to position my menus. Surely, the navigation menu cannot be the only place to position a menu? What about on the left……..or on the right?

    Thanks 🙁
