• I would like to try out your plugin, however the instructions on setting up the API in Facebook. X etc are very much lacking at the moment. Do you have instructions with screen shots? Might be outdated instructions with Facebooks new Dev center.

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi @rottie,

    Thanks for checking out Socync.

At the moment, there is no screenshot-based guide – only this one: https://github.com/gocemitevski/socync/blob/main/GUIDE.md#connecting-social-networks, along with the in-tab instructions on the Connections page. These instructions should be up to date with the latest Developer portals of each network, though there are many network-specific details that are beyond the scope of our guide.

Each social network usually requires you to create an app in its designated Developer portal, set the required OAuth client keys, and then set the redirect URL (provided in the Connections page tab). This part requires some prior experience with setting up these apps and using each social network’s Developer portal.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I have set them up before, but before they will approve them it asks for testing etc. I cannot get it to publish

I followed your instructions and it seems to want more than you stated.

OK. In that case, I suggest you toggle the “Enable verbose logging” option on the Settings page, so you can see which part fails exactly on the Log page. The Dry Run option is also very helpful to see what happens exactly during publishing – what comes out as input to the API.

@rottie added detailed step-by-step connection guides for X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Bluesky at https://github.com/gocemitevski/socync/blob/main/docs/index.md. I hope this helps.
