Crayon Syntax Highlighter in excerpts

Hello,

I am trying to remove the [crayon-55738…/](abbreviated with …) from the excerpt of my posts. I found this link from a year ago: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-prevent-ugly-excerpts-crayon-syntax-highlighter?replies=3 , and in the post, the OP checks the “Remove Crayons from excerpts” to make this stop happening. I have done the same thing, but to no avail. I am extremely new to WP, and am kinda lost as to what to do. My is currently in “Under Construction” mode (told you I’m new :-)), or else I would post a link. If that would help matters, just let me know and I will open it up for anyone to take a look. Does anybody else have this issue? Is there a workaround? Anyways, thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
