    Hello dear Masteriyo team

I deleted all the sample courses(even emptied the trash). I created a free course with a few sections and lesson and it was my first course. When i click on start, in the Learn page, the url shows the course slig correctly, but at the end of the url i see /#/course/872/leeson/903

It’s my first course on my website and the first lesson. Why is it showing the numbers like that in url?

    Thanks.

    Hi @derlehre,

That’s expected behavior, not a problem with your course.

The part of the URL before the # is the actual page URL and uses your course slug as expected. Everything after the # belongs to the interactive Learn player, which is a JavaScript app that switches between lessons without reloading the page.

The hash simply tells the player which lesson is currently open, allowing things like the browser’s back button and bookmarks to work. Browsers don’t send the hash portion to the server, and search engines don’t index it, so it doesn’t affect your SEO or the links you share.

Masteriyo uses lesson IDs rather than slugs because lessons aren’t standalone pages; they’re viewed inside the course player. IDs are also stable, so renaming a lesson won’t break saved links.

The large numbers are simply WordPress post IDs. Posts, pages, revisions, images, and other content share the same ID counter, so the sample courses you deleted used up some IDs before you created your first course.

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
